Mangaluru, Nov 08 2019: The Students in schools and colleges should not aim only at academic excellence, but also give due importance to sports and games. A sound mind in a sound body. Participation in games and sports makes the students to have a sound mind too – said Sri Purushothama Poojary, the retired Physical Education Director of Shree Gokarnanatheshwara College. He was addressing the students after inaugurating the sports meet. He said that students should not be discouraged when they do not win. Every failure is a stepping stone for the success. Regular practice makes the students perfect in any of the games and sports. Participation in sports and games will never hinder their studies. It helps the students to inculcate self- discipline.
Mr. Baikady Janardana Achar, the administrator of Shakthi Education Trust, speaking on the occasion told the students that the goal of education is to promote friendship, integrity and discipline. The students should utilize the opportunities given to them in the school and aim at achieving something great in their lives. A balanced growth of mind and body is very essential for personality development, he said.
Sri. K.C. Naik, the Managing Trustee of Shree Gopalakrishna Temple, Prabhakara G.S, the Principal of Shakthi PU College, Smt. Vidya Kamath G, the Principal of Shakthi Residential School, Prakhyath Rai, the Institution Development Officer, Neema Saxena, the Co-ordinator of Shree Gopalakrishna Pre-School were present.
