Mangaluru, April 22,2017: A team from ATC, Animal Care Trust, visited the circus camp in the city and found that though the animals were healthy, their living conditions were bad.
The team checked licences, veterinary certificates, medical records, vaccinations and court orders and also checked the animals at the camp.
The team informed the Department of Animal Husbandry and a government vet and together held an inspection.
The team saw that the animals were cramped up for space and were tied up with metal anklets and details were noted.
The ACT team demanded that animals be kept in bigger and better enclosures and that the metal anklets used for the elephants be replaced.
