Amma’s followers clean Mangalore city

Mangalore, May 29: The followers of Mata Amritanandamayi launched a second cleanliness drive in Hampankatta on May 29, Sunday.

It may be recalled that they had undertaken their first cleanliness drive in Central Market at the beginning of May in collaboration with the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC).













They collected junk, waste, plastic, and a lot of trash in Hampankatta. The volunteers wore gloves and were accompanied by MCC officials.

This cleanliness drive follows the Save Our Beach campaign launched by the district administration under the guidance of Subodh Yadav, the previous DC, two months back. Hundreds of citizens had participated in the beach cleanliness drive launched by the district administration in collaboration with a number of social service groups across the city.
