The protestors alleged that though the earlier plan was to construct either an over bridge or an underpass,  both proposals have been dropped now. The authorities have kept public in the dark regarding the project and even RTI query is not yielding any result, they alleged.

They even pointed out that the NH widening works have hit hard locals as  it was a main junction which provided link to several places of public utilities including colleges, hospitals and SP office.

Vehicular movement was affected for some time following the protest  as residents demanded that the NH authorities visited the place and accepted memorandum from them.

One of the protestors Uday Kumar Shetty said there were plans to meet the local MP Shobha Karandlaje on February 27 to discuss the issue with her.

The agitation was withdrawn after NHAI authorities arrived at the protest  venue and accepted memorandum from the protestors.
