Mangaluru, Nov 25, 2017: The 14th edition of Alva’s Nudisiri-2017,  a Kannada literary festival organised by the Alva’s Education  Foundation will be held from December 1 to 3  at the Sundari Anand Alva Campus, Vidyagiri in Moodbidri. Eminent Kannada writer Dr C N Ramachandran will inaugurate  the Nudisiri while the  event will be chaired by renowned film director and actor Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar.

This was informed to reporters here on November 25, Saturday by Dr Mohan Alva, Chairman of the Foundation. The cultural procession to be organised prior to the inaugural will be flagged off by Fr F X Gomes, Parish Priest of Mulki Church while Dr N Vinay Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University will  hoist the Nudisiri flag.

Dr Alva informed that the Alva’s Krishi Siri 2017  will be inaugurated on November 30  by former prime minister H D Devegowda at the  agricultural fields of Mundudeguttu Rammohan Rai.

Over 2000 photographers will take part in the Photography exhibition  Chayachitrasiri, he said adding  various other events including Galipata Siri, Udyoga Siri, Alva’s Rangasiri, Chukki Chitrasiri. Cine Siri.  Vyangya Chitra Siri,Yaksha Siri, Goodu Deepa Siri and Vijnanasiri will be held.

The ’Nanna Kathe Nimma Jothe’  programme will feature former Lokayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde, Capt Naveen Nagappa and Kasargod Chinna who will  share experiences in their respective fields.

Nudisiri Awards to 15 achievers : A total of 15 achievers will be conferred the Alva’s Nudisiri Awards at the valedictory function. The winners this year are Bishop Henry D’Souza, H S Doreswamy, Nadoja Dr N Santhosh Hegde, Dr Tejaswi Kattimani, Dr Siddalinga Pattanashetty, Dr Vijaya Dabbe, Prof K B Siddayya, Prof G H Hanneradumath, Prof B Surendra Rao, Dr M Prabhakar Joshi, Padmashree   Girish Bharadwaj, Padmaraj Dandavati, Ratnamala Prakash, Dr Thonse Vijaykumar Shetty and Rathashilpi Lakshminarayan Acharya.


Alvas to offer 10,000 jobs for Kannada-medium candidates

The 14th edition of Alvas Nudisri showcasing Kannada literature, culture, art and agriculture will be held on the 200-acre campus of Alvas College in Moodbidri.  While Alvas Vidyasiri relates to the youth, Alvas Krishi Siri relates to agriculture and they will start on November 30. The main event, Alva’s Nudisiri, will start on December 1. There will also be Alvas Cini Siri involving screening of critically acclaimed Kannada films and a Galipata Siri, to fly kites.

Talking to media on Nov 25,  Saturday, Alvas Education Foundation Chairman Mohan Alva said that for the first time they are holding Alvas Udyogasiri to offer jobs for those who have studied in Kannada-medium till Class 10. Nearly 100 companies are offering 10,000 jobs, he said. Mr. Alva said that programmes will be held simultaneously across 12 stages set up on the campus. There will be 12 programmes at each one of the stages from 6 a.m. till midnight. Apart from talks and recital of poems, there will be programmes from nearly 6,000 artists and artistes. In addition, there will be an exhibition of pets, aquariums, handicrafts and science model show.

Film director Nagathihalli Chandrashekar will preside over Alvas Nudisiri, which will be inaugurated by writer C.N. Ramachandra. There will be interaction with Mr. Chandrashekar, artiste Kasaragod Chinna, Kargil war veteran Captain Naveen Nagappa and the former Lokayukta N. Santosh Hegde as part of the series named “Nanna Kathe Nimma Jothe”. As many as 15 persons, including Mr. Hegde, will be felicitated.

Mr. Alva said that he was expecting participation of over 1.5 lakh people. The foundation will have two kitchens to serve food across 100 counters during the four-day event.

Alva’s Nudisiri just an eye wash to the public . Though incidents are happening right in front of you never go into dept.
