Alva’s Virasat: Jugalbandhi holds audience captive

Mangalore Today News Network

Moodbidri, Jan 9: People who attended the third day of Alva’s Virasath 2010, a national-level cultural festival organized at Shobha Vana, will never forget the amazing jugalbandhi presented by Pandit Prbayan Chatterjee of West Bengal on sitar and Praveen Godkhindi on flute. Around 10,000 people witnessed the jugalbandhi, which was followed by “Prathima,” an innovative dance presentation by Nrityagrama of Bangalore.

The jugalbandhi comprised 12 delightful numbers; and the applause was thunderous. The music from Pandit Chatterjee’s sitar blended gracefully with the notes of Praveen Godkhindi’s flute. The music, the gentle winds, the star-studded sky, and the scent of flowers and herbs from Shobhavana added to the charm of the evening.
