Mangaluru, Jan 15, 2016: As part of the ’Traffic Week’ being held by the Mangaluru city police a large group of Aloysius College degree students marched from the College on Lighthouse Hill to the Police HQ at Pandeshwar and then gathered at Forum Mall on Jan 14, Thursday afternoon.
The displayed banners and placards with catchy slogans asking people to adhere to traffic rules/laws for their safety and safety of others. All along the route they raised slogans and motivated public to drive with care and follow safety norms strictly. One of the leaders said, "We see and hear of so many accidents in our own city now. The cause it seems is purely neglect and failure to follow basic road and traffic regulations, over speeding, drunk driving, using mobile phones indiscriminately and so on. It is high time that all be considerate towards fellow beings (and pedestrians) and keep safety as a vital element in our lives".
At the Forum Mall they were given water bottles and Police officers of the area addressed them giving pointers to better road/traffic safety and appreciated their initiative and requested them to see that the spirit is carried on even when the ’Traffic Week" is over.
After the awareness rally all the St.Aloysius Staff posing with the police department.A beautiful photo session.
Whatever the Traffic Awareness shown to the public but the person riding the vehicle have to be alert and very careful.
The accidents are increasing in the city due to the lack of awareness in the youth as well as the public. If we follow proper traffic rule and drive care fully to some extent we can control the accidents
A good move by the St. Aloysius students . The Traffic Awareness campaign is must because the youth are the one who should be very alert.
