Mangaluru, September 3, 2016: St. Aloysius College organised a program to commemorate the canonization of Blessed Mother Theresa of Kolkata on September 3rd, 2016 at 12 noon in the college Katte. Sr. Bernadetta, superior of the Mother Theresa home was the chief guest, accompanied by Sr. Mikaela and Sr. Agise of the same house. Rev Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ, Rector graced the occasion accompanied by Rev Fr Swebert D’Silva SJ, Principal, Fr Pradeep Sequeira SJ, Finance officer, Fr Praveen Martis and Fr Marcel Rodrigues, Campus Ministers.

A skit on the life of Mother Theresa was performed by the Dramatics Association followed by formal programme, where the Katte was renamed Mother Theresa Peace Park and Arrupe Hall 801 was named as Mother Theresa Hall.

Sr. Bernadetta, the chief guest, briefed the audience about the life of Mother Theresa and she quoted her words saying “The fruit of silence is prayer, the fruit of prayer is faith, the fruit of faith is love, the fruit of love is service, and the fruit of service is peace, because works of love are always works of peace.”

Fr Rector Dionysius Vaz SJ said or asked us to contemplate on these words “What do people feel when they are with you and to seek and feel the love of each and every one in little things we do.”

Fr Principal is his message said “To be a saint is not an easy task, very few have been chosen to do so” He added on saying “Only when we are able to see every person as our own brother or sister or the presence of god in them, then we will be able to treat the person equally and with consideration.”

The programme ended with a vote of thanks given by Fr. Marcel Rodrigues SJ, the Campus Minister.
