Alleged sexual assault on minor : Duo arrested

Kasargod, Feb 9, 2015: An autorickshaw driver and a car driver have been arrested by the police in connection with a recent incident wherein a 11 year old girl was sexually assaulted in an autorickshaw at Kumble. The arrests were made on February 7, Saturday.

Dinesh Those arrested are Rajesh (30), an auto driver and Dinesh (32), a car driver. The incident reportedly took place on February 6, Friday.

Sources said Rajesh used to take the girl to school and back home in his autorickshaw everyday. On Friday too she had boarded his auto along with three other school mates.

It is said Dinesh also boarded the autorickshaw enroute. Once the other three students alighted and the girl was all alone, Dinesh sat on the back seat with her and allegedly tried to sexually assault her. The girl somehow got out of the autorickshaw and rushed towards her house.

Though the two escaped, locals managed to catch hold of Rajesh who initially denied wrongdoing and later admitted his guilt.

Later, Dinesh too was arrested.
