After unique protest by activist Olakadu, Manipal roads get attention

Udupi, Aug 15,2017: The roads in Manipal tiger circle and bus stand area have been temporarily repaired by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) within a week after social activist Nithyananda Olakadu swam in a road pothole to register his unique protest against the authorities after they fail to take any action to repair the roads in the town, this was reported by Mangalore Today web recently.

The potholes on the roads have been filled with stones and others by using tools, equipment, machineries of NHAI. NHAI has postponed the road tarring work as rainfall activities may spoil the tarring.

Last week, Nithyananda decided to swim in the road pothole filled with water as authorities remain silent even locals urged them to repair the roads. His unique protest grabbed public attention and videos, photos of the protest gone viral in various social media platforms on the internet.
