After AC’s intervention Idya Covid-19 victim’s burial done at Bolar

Mangaluru, June 28, 2020: The burial of the 31 year old youth from Idya near Suratkal was done at the  Bolar burial ground  itself after due intervention of Assistant Commissioner Madan Mohan. Earlier,  several locals had strongly opposed the burial in the local mosque.

Arrangements had been made for the last rites at the burial ground  of the Bolar mosque as per the request of the authorities of the mosque from Idya near Suratkal for the reason that  rain water was flowing  into the burial pit there.

However when locals in Bolar opposed, the  plans to perform the burial at Bolar mosque was dropped. Later,  the body was taken to Idya itself after the mosque authorities there decided to make alternate arrangements.

However, on coming to know about this,  Assistant Commissioner Madan Mohan asked the concerned to bring  the body back to Bolar and managed to convince those who were  opposing.

Some locals had earlier opposed on the grounds that they did not want outsiders to be cremated in the area and have no objection to the burial of any local person.  But Assistant Commissioner held talks with them and asked them not to oppose in the present case when all arrangements have been made.
