Sharing his experiences in Karnataka, he said that he had arrived at Bangalore for the Lok Sabha meeting during the Emergency and was in Bangalore Central Jail for 19 months. Adding a dash of humor to his speech, he said that he would have definitely learned Kannada if he had spend a few more months in jail.

Stating that neither his party nor he would compromise with the corruption in the Karnataka state government, he said that he had visited Karnataka against the wishes of his friends because he is eager to make the state government corruption free. He also admitted that he wanted to test his credibility level in the state and added that he simply wished to convey the message to the people of Karnataka that the government should be judged harshly and should not be spared.

Further, he said that the Jan Chethana Yatra is the 6th yatra he has undertaken and that he always conducts thorough research on the theme of a yatra before moving it forward.

He also opined that the BJP is an extraordinary party unlike the Congress, which has been wallowing in scams ever since the time of Nehru. The scams that have been witnessed during the tenure of Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh are unheard of, he added. He said that the central government’s cash for vote is the filthiest scam in the country’s history and that the central government has purchased the trust vote from the MPs by bribing them.

Speaking about the black money stashed in Swiss banks, he said that no other country has invested as much money as India has in Swiss banks and that no Indian village will ever face problems such as lack of drinking water, power outages, lack of schools and dispensaries, lack of good roads, and others if this money is brought back to the country and used for its welfare. All the six lakh villages of India will be developed and a new India will be established, he added.

He also said that he will have a webcam installed in his workplace from Nov 1 to provide transparency in the governance.

He also urged common people to directly contact authorities at the CM’s office to get an immediate response in case they come across any corrupt government officials. He also said that a committee has been formed by the chief secretary to avoid denotification problems.

Flaying the Congress members for waving black flags during Advani’s visit, K. S. Eshwarappa said that the Congress must be warning its own ministers to give up corrupt activities and provide corruption-free governance to the people.

BJP District President Padmanabha Kottary delivered the welcome address.

Raviprasad, the BJP spokesperson; C. T. Ravi, the chief secretary of the state BJP; ML Nalin Kumar Kateel; Krishna J. Palemar, the district-in-charge minister, Coastal development Authority B Nagaraj Shetty, Deputy Speaker N Yogesh Bhat, ZP President K T Sahilaja Bhat, Mayor Praveen Anchan, Former BJP district president Monappa Bhandary and others were present.
