Pai, two of Vinayak Baliga’s three sisters, rationalist Narendra Nayak and other activists met Police Commissioner  Chandra Sekhar at his office on June 27, Monday. The two sisters of  Baliga  Pai appreciated the efforts of the police to trace Naresh Shenoy and other persons allegedly involved in the murder. Narendra  Nayak said that the police should make use of legal provisions that make it difficult for persons accused of the crime to evade arrest.

While lauding the police investigation of the murder, State president of Democratic Youth Federation of India Muneer Katipalla said that the police should arrest all those who were involved in the murder. He also asked the police to prepare the chargesheet in a way that it ensures the conviction of all those involved.

The Police Commissioner said they will be making use of all scientific tools available and ensure that a proper chargesheet was filed. The investigation has been an eye-opener for police on the use of certain criminal law provisions that are effective against persons involved in crime and also on those who protect the accused.
