Mangaluru, Oct 14, 2020:    Konaje Police have arrested one person in connection with the recent murder of a  woman  at Belleri near Hoohakuvakallu in Balepuni village.

The arrested  person is Ashraf (28) from Sakleshpur. It is learnt, Ashraf who stayed in a rented house had noticed Kusuma (53) living all alone when he had  been to work in the plantation of Girish who resided close by Kusuma’s house. He decided to rob her  and had   entered  her house and had tried to snatch the gold chain she was wearing. It is learnt Kusuma had resisted the theft attempt and also his  sexual advances towards her when the accused banged  her head against the wall resulting in her death.

The accused who was working as an auto driver in the past had later sold it and was working as a labourer.
