Aatidonji Dina organized at Pilikula Heritage Village

Mangalore, July 26: Aatidonji Dina was organized at Heritage Village, Pilikula on July 25 Monday. The event featured symbols of Tulu culture and lifestyle such as pots, lanterns, scythes, grinders, rolling pins, farming equipment, and others. Traditional Tulu cuisine such as chutneys, patrodes, rice mudde, appam, kajipu, ambade, and others made mouths water. 

 

 

Mayor Praveen Anchan inaugurated the event, and DC Dr. Channappa Gowda planted saplings of coconut and paddy. Shailaja Bhat, the president of the zilla panchayat, inaugurated the stage programme. Speaking on the importance of preserving Tulu culture, she said that the best way to protect culture is to teach young children. 

J. R. Lobo, the director of Pilikula Nisargadhama Society, delivered the welcome address in which he said that Pilikula Heritage Village is a treasure trove of local culture and that all visitors to the village go away enriched. 

Konkodi Padmanabha, the president of CAMPCO, inaugurated the handicrafts expo. MLA Abhayachandra Jain and others were also present.

Traditional indoor and outdoor games were organized on this occasion.
