Mangalore, Jan 25, 2015: Baburao Chinchanasur, State Minister for Ports, Inland Transport and Textiles has assured that works on first tranche ADB funded sea erosion prevention project in Ullal would be completed by June 2016.
Speaking to reporters here on January 24, Saturday, the minister said the works on the first tranche were underway and much of the works are likely to be completed before the ensuring monsoon. He said the project envisages construction of four inshore berms and two offshore reefs and breakwaters.
He said the government is expected to hold talks with the ADB for sanction of lands for the second tranche project. The second tranche project will be implemented in Someshwara, Udyavara, Kodi Bengre, Yermal Thenka, Maravanthe, Gangolli, Shiroor, Murdeshwar and Mavinakurve.
He said the proposal of a Maritime Board in the city has not yet been approved by the President.
