ACC Ltd. launches Coastal+ cement for durable buildings

Mangalore, Nov 10, 2011: ACC Ltd., India’s foremost cement manufacturer and pioneer in cement and concrete technology, launched Coastal+, a premium eco-friendly brand of cement at Hotel Gateway today. 

Mr. Ramit Bhudhraja, the chief executive (south and west region) of ACC Ltd., formally launched the product and said that the company is happy to offer Coastal+ to consumers in Udupi, Uttara Kannada, and DK since these coastal regions are of great importance to ACC.  

 

Speaking about the product, he said that it is the result of continuous effort on the part of the company’s technology service centres. He also said that the company launched the same product in Calicut a year back and that it was widely accepted by consumers. He said that the cement has been made to deal with the harsh climate of the coastal regions. Being cohesive, it assists in the construction of concrete buildings with low permeability resulting in top protection from the chlorides and sulphates in the sea breeze and durability of homes.  The cement can be used for foundations, roofs, and other sections exposed to the elements. 

ACC Ltd. operates a country-wide network of 7 ACC help centres, websites functioning 24/7, and 120 ACC help vans under the umbrella of ACC Help. The company offers value-added services such as guidance on construction, ingredients testing, site visits, proportion design, testing performance, and so on. The company offers durability tests such as RCPT to customers who purchase and use Coastal+. 

The company has sold 4000 – 5000 kilo tons of cement per month in Calicut and have a target of 5000 kilo tons for Mangalore by January.
