Vasanth Kumar, the state president of ABVP, addressed the gathering at Town Hall and said that the country’s independence is at risk because of the corrupt policies within India. Flaying the centre’s inability to check these corrupt activities, he said the three of the numerous central government scams have crossed Rs. 1 lakh while the other 13 scams have crossed Rs. 1000 crore each. He urged the youth to exhibit its strength and work toward developing the country.

Speaking on the 2G scam, which was the largest reported scam within India, he said that even the prime minister and the home minister are involved in it.

The protesting students demanded that the black money stashed in various foreign banks be brought back to India, the Jan Lokpal Bill be implemented, and that eGovernance be brought into force to make electoral reforms and the functioning of the government more transparent.

Pushparaj Jain, the RSS leader and businessman, presided over the event. ABVP leaders Swathi, Jagadish Kaapumale, Akshatha, Dasharath, and others were also present.
