Mangalore, Feb 21, 2013  :  The District Congress , in a swift move after the high drama at the Janardhan Poojari convened press meet on February 20, Wednesday, staged a  so called show of unity before the media later in the day.

If Ashraf had walked out of the press meet venue saying he had been neglected in the committee formed by the Congress in view of the ensuing local body polls; later in the day   a second press meet was convened. This was addressed by Ashraf himself who promised to work for the party as its sincere worker and strive for the victory of the party.


Kodijal Ibrahim who spoke, said all party members are committed to adhere to the decision of the DCC Chief Ramanatha Rai, and senior leader B Janardhan Poojari. He said  due justice has been done to the minorities in the committee which has 8 Muslim members, 5 Christians and 2 Jains.


UT Khader, who also spoke, claimed that a communication gap had led to the morning incident.


Senior leader KS Mohammad Masood , UT Khader, Ivan D’Souza and  Moidin Bava too were present  and tried to under play  the entire incident that took place  earlier in the day
