Mangaluru, Jan 21, 2017: A ceremonial parade was held in honour of police personnel who were recently promoted, at the District Armed Reserve (DAR) police grounds on Jan 20, Friday. Following directions of Director General and Inspector General of Police, DK Superintendent of Police Bhushan Gulabrao Borase issued orders to promote 56 civil policemen and 52 personnel working in the District Armed Reserve police.
As many as 43 civil police constables were promoted to the rank of civil head constables while 13 head constables were promoted to the rank of Assistant Sub Inspectors. Similarly, 26 each Armed Police Constables and Armed Head Constables were promoted as Armed Head Constables and Armed Police Sub Inspectors respectively. In the ceremony held at the police grounds, SP Borase presented the rank badges to Head Constables. He pinned a star on the shoulder of each of the Assistant Sub Inspectors as well. SP Borase told media that such ceremony will be a regular matter in the future.
