Mangaluru, April 8, 2017: Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu will flag off the inaugural service of Train No.16575/16576 Yeswantpur- Mangaluru Junction – Yeswantpur Tri-weekly Express (through video conferencing from Goa), in a function scheduled to be held at 10.45 am on Sunday, 9th April 2017 at Mangaluru Junction Railway station.
During the function, The Hon’ble Minister will also Dedicate the newly electrified section of Mangaluru Central/ Mangaluru Jn-Charvattur of 82 Kms and newly laid double line between Panambur and Jokatte, with a new Block station at Jokatte.
He will also inaugurate the freight siding at Thokur of Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd.
The chief guests on the occasion will be D. V. Sadananda Gowda, Hon’ble Union Minister of Statistics and Program Implementation, B. Ramanatha Rai, Hon’ble Minister for Forest, Environment & Ecology, Govt. of Karnataka, U. T. Khadar, Hon’ble Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consurmer Affairs, Govt. of Karnataka.
Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, P. Karunakaran, MP, Ivan D’Souza, MLC, Capt. Ganesh Karnik, MLC, Meenakshi Shantigodu, President, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat, J. R. Lobo, MLA, B. A. Mohiuddin Bava, MLA, Abhayachandra Jain, MLA and Kavitha Sanil, Mayor of Mangaluru City Corporation will also grace the occasion.
New Train service:
The inaugural service of the new Train will run as special train No.06576. It will be flagged off at 11.30 hours on 09/04/2017(Sunday) from Mangaluru Junction station, to open timings with stops at Bantawala, Kabakaputtur, Subramanya Road, Sakleshpur, Hassan, Channarayapatna, B. G. Nagar, Yediyuru, Kunigal, Nelamangala and Chikbanavar.
The train will have 14 coaches with composition of 4 Second Class sitting(reserved) coaches, 8 General Second class (Unreserved) coaches and 2 Luggage cum brake vans.
The regular service will commence on 11/04/2017(Tuesday) from Yeswantpur and on 12/04/2017(Wednesday) from Mangaluru Jn. The timings of these Train services are furnished below:-
The service of Train No.16575 Yeswantpur-Mangaluru jn Tri-weekly Express will leave Yeswantpur at 07.50 hours on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, to arrive at Mangaluru Junction at 17.30 hours on the same days.
In the return direction, the service of Train No.16576 Mangaluru Jn-Yeswantpur Tri-weekly Express will leave Mangaluru Jn at 11.30 hours on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to arrive at Yeswantpur at 20.30 hours on the same days.
The regular train services will have 14 coaches, comprising of 7 Second Class Sitting(Reserved) coaches, 5 General Second Class(Unreserved) coaches and 2 Luggage cum brake vans.

The bus lobby has succeeded again. The schedule is so inconvenient for everyone. Moreover it is starting from Mangalore junction, where the Rickshaw lobby is so strong that they prevent prepaid service from being operation. Please sir, start a night service train from Mangalore to Bangalore on this new route. | |
