A fun swim in quarry pit turns tragic; 2 youngsters drown

Mangaluru, Aug 10, 2015: Two youth who had entered into a quarry pit at Alakere in Konaje police station limits  on August 9, Sunday to enjoy a swim have met a watery grave. A total of six boys  had been to the quarry pit when tragedy struck.


The deceased youth have been identified as Jayaprakash and Dikshith, both 18 years of age. Both are residents of Cheluru Maji. It is said Jayaprakash who first began to drown raised a cry. Dikshith   who rushed to help his friend  could not succeed and eventually drowned.

The bodies were retrieved from the pit by a person named Pavoor Iqbal.  A case has been registered by Konaje police.

So many incidents take place but still we put our self in danger. Just think how the parents face this tragedy.
