Mangaluru, Nov 23, 2014: State Minister for Youth Services and Fisheries Abhayachandra Jain, Health Minister UT Khader and City Police Commissioner R Hithendra jointly inaugurated the Fifth Round of the National Supercross Championship near Kulur here on November 23, Sunday. The event is organised by Godspeed Racing-Pune in association with Mangalore Motocross Sports Association, and sponsored by MRF, TVS, Hero, and Servo.
A 900 meter long dirt track, the first in the city was set up near Kulur for the purpose. The track has three table-tops and 22 jumps. Brad Ripple from USA, a specialist has designed the track.
The attraction of the inaugural was a bike ride by minister UT Khader to a loud applause. He rode a TVS RJR180 FX motorbike along the dirt track. Brad Ripple was also there and presented some hair raising bike stunts.
As many as 120 professional and amateur riders from Chennai, Mumbai, Nashik, Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, Punjab, Coimbatore as well as Mangaluru and Udupi are participating in the event which will be conducted in seven categories. The final round is slated to be held in Bengaluru on November 29, 30.
