There are 32 seats kept as reserve, he said, adding the centre will host a variety of examinations such as those conducted by the UPSC for IAS aspirants and allied services, IBPS, CAT, MAT, NEET, GATE, obviating the need for local candidates to go to distant places and answer the same.
Shyam Bhat, chief executive officer of the centre said as per information given by TCS, this is one of the largest such centres outside Bengaluru and one of the 12 centres in Karnataka.
There are six such centres in Bengaluru, three are in various stages of completion at Kalaburagi, Shivamogga, and Manipal respectively. Similar centres are coming up at Hubballi and Mysuru, he said, adding the examinations at these centres will be conducted in a virtual online mode.
Question papers of the respective examinations will be downloaded on to servers at the centres and candidates will be provided access to them using LAN. This ensures that there is no leakage of question paper, and students cannot indulge in malpractice as the questions are randomized.
