40th Tulu movie ’Kanchilda Baale’ to be released on March 25

Mangalore, Mar 22: Raghunath Rai Kumbra, the producer and director of Kanchilda Baale, the 40th Tulu movie, told reporters at a press conference held at Press Club on March 22, Tuesday that the movie will be released at Prabhath Theatre in Mangalore on March 25 in commemoration of the 40th year of the Tulu cinema. The same movie will be released at Mayura in Puttur and Kalpana in Udupi, he added.



Muthappa Rai, the founder of Jayakarnataka, has played an important role in this movie. The lead role is being played by Shakunthala Shetty, the ex MLA of Puttur. The movie deals with various traditions related to the son-in-law in Tulunadu and the traditional sport Kambala.


 

 


Navin D. Padil, famous for his comedy roles; Aravind Bolar; D. N. Bolar; and others are associated with this movie. Charithra Hegde of Udupi has played the role of Kanchilda Baale.


Raghunath Rai Kumbra, an old student of Puttur St. Philomena’s College, received the national-level gold medal for his first movie “Maari Bale.” He has also produced a movie in Kannada and has requested everybody to watch this new movie.


Navin D. Padil and Sai Krishna were present during the press conference.
