Mangalore, Oct 06, 2014: At least four theft cases have been reported from Ullal and Suratkal areas in the vicinity of the city of late.
In a theft case reported from Suratkal, thieves have stolen a cash of Rs 58000 and gold weighing 64 grams from the house of Satya Shanker at Tadambail. They had entered the house by breaking open the back door and stole the cash and jewels when the occupants of the house were fast asleep.
Thieves also tried to burgle another neighbouring house but could not find anything.
In another case, thieves who made their way into the house of Satish Bekal at Kapikad near Ullal have stolen a cash of Rs 5000 apart from relishing the food items which they found inside the refrigerator. Satish and his family were away in Kasargod when the theft took place. The burglary came to light only on October 5, Sunday when the family returned.
In another theft case reported from the same area, thieves broke into another house owned by Shekhar Bangera but could not lay their hands on any valuable in the house which belonged to a family which stayed abroad.
Suratkal and Ullal police have registered cases and are investigating.
