374 new Covid-19 positive cases in DK; 247 cases in Udupi on September 8

Mangaluru, September 8, 2020: 374 people from Dakshina Kannada (DK) and 247 people from Udupi tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. Three more Covid-19 fatalities were recorded in DK and seven in Udupi district today.

Among the 374 new cases in DK, 219 are from Mangaluru, 61 from Bantwal, 32 from Beltangady, 36 from Puttur, six from Sullia and 20 are from outside DK district. As many as 232 patients were discharged from hospital today.

With this the total Covid 19 positive cases in the DK district rose to 15,452. As many as 11,986 persons have been discharged and 3,054 cases are currently active. 412 deaths have occurred including one today.

Udupi district has reported 247 fresh cases on Tuesday. Among them, 115 are from Udupi, 83 from Kundapur, 45 from Karkala and four from outside the district. Now, the Udupi has a total of 13,087 cases with 1,844 still being treated at the designated hospitals. 11,124 patients recovered and discharged including 178 today. The district has reported 121 COVID-19 fatality.
