Mangaluru, March 6, 2016: A total of 33,851 students will be appearing for the SSLC exams in the district scheduled to begin on March 30. The number of students appearing for PUC exams from the district are 34,760, informed Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim.
Addressing a meeting of education department officers and chiefs of examination centres at the DC office auditorium on March 5, Saturday he urged the officers to ensure that exams are held in a fair manner without giving scope for any malpractice.
Walter D’Mello, Deputy Director of Public Instructions said exams will be held in 103 examination centres and a total of 17,672 boys and 16,171 girl will appear for the exams.
Timmayya, Deputy Director of Pre-University Education said there will be 52 II PUC examination centres and that 17,352 boys and 17,408 girls will appear for the exams. Of the total students, 5,882 students will appear in the arts stream, 15,767 students in commerce stream and 13,111 students in science stream. Of the total students, 1,077 are repeaters while 2,320 students will be appearing for the examination privately,he informed.
