Mangaluru, Oct 16, 2020: As many as 301 people tested positive for Covid-19 and two people lost their battle to Coronavirus on Thursday.
With the fresh confirmed infections, Dakshina Kannada (DK) district’s total tally of Covid-19 positive cases stood at 27,739. According to Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Rajendra K V, two more fatalities had been recorded in the district. With this, total deaths had increased to 619.
The district has 3,707 active cases undergoing treatment at hospitals, Covid Care Centres and in home isolation. As many as 490 persons had recovered and discharged from hospital on Thursday. Total persons discharged in the district is 23,413.
A total of 7,561 cases were slapped on those violating the guidelines of wearing masks and a fine amount of Rs 8,96,375 was collected so far in the district.
In Udupi
With 180 people in Udupi district testing positive for Covid-19, the total number of cases stood at 20,275 in the district, as on Friday.
1,472 swab samples were collected for testing on Thursday. As many as 18,154 were discharged. Out of total cases, 130 were asymptomatic and 50 were symptomatic. Out of total number of cases, 70 were from Udupi, 60 from Kundapur and 48 from Karkala taluks, respectively. Two Covid-19 positive patients were from outside district.
Out of 180, 166 were recommended home isolation and 14 are hospitalised. 1,953 patients are undergoing treatment at homes and hospitals.
