296 fresh Covid-19 cases in DK, Udupi reports 237

Mangaluru, Oct 09, 2020:   As many as 296 people tested positive to Covid-19 and six people lost their battle to Coronavirus on Thursday. With the fresh confirmed infections, Dakshina Kannada (DK) district’s total tally of Covid-19 positive cases stood at 25,572.

 

According to Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra K V, six more fatalities had been recorded in the district. With this, total deaths had increased to 594. The district has 4,392 active cases undergoing treatment at hospitals, Covid Care centres and in home isolation.

As many as 586 persons had recovered and discharged from hospital on Thursday. The total discharged in the district is 20,0586.

In Udupi

A total of 237 people in the district tested positive for Covid-19 and the total number of cases stood at 18,779 as on Thursday.

With one more death confirmed due to Covid-19, the number of Covid-19 deaths increased to 162. 2,944 swab samples were collected for testing. As many as 16,692 had been discharged so far.

Out of 237, 94 are asymptomatic and 143 are symptomatic. Out of total number of cases, 123 are from Udupi, 68 are from Kundapur and 46 are from Karkala taluks, respectively.
