272 fresh Covid-19 cases, seven fatalities in DK

Mangaluru, Oct 07, 2020: Dakshina Kannada district confirmed 272 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, taking the district’s total tally to 24,829.

According to Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra K V, seven more fatalities had been recorded in the district. With this, the total deaths have increased to 581.

The district has 5,462 active cases undergoing treatment at hospitals, Covid care centres and in home isolation.

As many as 382 people had recovered and were discharged from hospital on Tuesday. The total number of people discharged in the district is 18,786.

The deputy commissioner said that wearing a mask is mandatory in public places. The ULBs, Gram Panchayats and police had been asked to slap a fine on those who violate the guidelines of the government.

A total of 5,462 mask violation cases had been registered in the district and a sum of Rs 6,58,385 had been collected from the violators.
