Mangalore, June 4: N. Yogish Bhat, the deputy speaker and MLA, said at a Janaspandana programme of the Hobli A level of Mangalore Taluk at Town Hall on June 4 that around 261 developmental projects have been launched with the help of the CM’s special grant of Rs. 100 crore and that 181 of these projects have already been completed, including the concretization of 16 roads.

He also suggested that 60 ward committees be formed for all the wards under the MCC to further develop the city. Stating that Rs. 25 crore has been earmarked for the development of rural roads, he said that work will commence immediately after monsoons, adding that the tanks will be rejuvenated with the help of Rs. 5 crore. He also said that Rs. 85 lakh have been earmarked to deal with artificial flooding in Jeppinamogaru.

Later, the deputy speaker distributed cheques of Rs. 3 lakh among fishermen and awarded certificates to eight students who successfully completed their computer courses.

During the Janaspandana, people complained against the poor condition of city roads and clogged storm water drains, irregular bus services, lack of bus shelters, libraries, RTC, electric supply, drinking water facilities, BPL cards, and many other issues.

Mayor Praveen, Assistant Commissioner Prabhulinga Kavalikatti, Deputy Mayor Geetha Nayak, Ravindra S. Gadadi, Tahsildar Ravichandra Nayak, KFDC President Nithin Kumar, TR Jagannath, MCC corporators, and many others were also present at the Janaspandana.
