218 new Covid-19 positive cases in DK; 182 cases in Udupi on July 25

Mangaluru, July 25, 2020: 218 people from Dakshina Kannada and 182 people from Udupi tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, July 25, 2020. The death toll in DK rose to 115 as eight patients succumbed to the coronavirus today.

Amongst the eight deceased in DK were, 44, 68, 75, 88-year-old men and 76 and 53 year-old women from Mangaluru, 68-year-old man from Bantwal and 78-year-old man from Bhatkal. As many as 140 patients were discharged from hospital today in DK.

Among the 180 who tested positive in DK, 87 have ILI symptoms, 15 have SARI symptoms, 46 are primary contacts and contacts of 70 are being traced. With this the total Covid 19 positive cases in the DK district rose to 4,612. As many as 2,127 persons have been discharged and 2,370 cases are currently active. 115 deaths have occurred including 8 deaths today.

Udupi district has reported 182 fresh cases on Saturday. Among them, 109 men and 68 women and 5 children. Now, the Udupi has a total of 3,218 cases with 1,199 still being treated at the designated hospitals. 2,008 patients recovered and discharged including 79 discharges today. The district has reported 13 COVID-19 fatality including a death of 75-year-old man from Shivamogga on Saturday.
