208 new Covid-19 positive cases in DK; 173 cases in Udupi on July 29

Mangaluru, July 29, 2020: 208 people from Dakshina Kannada and 173 people from Udupi tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. Seven more Covid-19 fatalities were recorded in DK district today.

Amongst the seven deceased in DK were, two men aged 39 and 73-year-old and a 69-year-old female from Mangaluru, 52-year-old male from Padubidiri, 62-year-old male from Bantwal, 66-year-old male from Dharwad and a 66-year-old male from Karwar. As many as 118 patients were discharged from hospital today.

Among the 208 who tested positive in DK, 73 with influenza-like illness (ILI), 12 with SARI symptoms, 65 are primary contacts of other positive patients and contacts of 58 are being traced. With this the total Covid 19 positive cases in the DK district rose to 5,311. As many as 2,456 persons have been discharged and 2,715 cases are currently active. 142 deaths have occurred including 7 deaths today.

Udupi district has reported 173 fresh cases on Wednesday. Now, the Udupi has a total of 3,895 cases with 1,547 still being treated at the designated hospitals. 2,323 patients recovered and discharged including 84 discharges today. The district has reported 25 COVID-19 fatality.
