2 teachers from Udupi district chosen for coveted National level Awards

Udupi, Sep 1,2015 :  Ashok Kumar Shetty, the headmaster of Sriniketana High School, Matapady near Brahmavar and Vasanthi N, Headmistress of Gurukula Aided Higher Primary School at Mala in Karkala taluk have been chosen for the National Best Teacher Award. The Award presentation ceremony will be held at Vigyan Bhawan at New Delhi  on September 5 and  the two will receive the award from President Pranab Mukherjee on Teachers Day.

Shetty who hails from Kadoor in Udupi taluk, is an MA and M.Ed degree holder. He  has been serving as Headmaster of Sriniketana school since 26 years. He has even been the President of District Headmasters’ Association in 2010-11. He is even the recipient of Udupi District Best Teacher Award in 2005 and State Best Teacher Award in 2011.

The other awardee- Vasanthi has been serving  as Headmistress of Gurukula School since 14 years. She  hails from Arasinamakki in Belthangady taluk and has earlier won the District level and state level best Teacher Award in 2004 and 2013 respectively.
