198 new Covid-19 positive cases in DK; 248 cases in Udupi on July 30

Mangaluru, July 30, 2020: 198 people from Dakshina Kannada and 248 people from Udupi tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, July 30, 2020. Eight more Covid-19 fatalities were recorded in DK and four deaths in Udupi district today.

Amongst the eight deceased in DK were, two men aged 52 and 57 and two women aged 87 and 60 from Mangaluru, 36-year-old female and a 64-year-old male from Puttur, 60-year-old female from Davanagere and a 75-year-old male from Mysuru. As many as 105 patients were discharged from hospital today.

Among the 198 who tested positive in DK, 80 with influenza-like illness (ILI), 14 with SARI symptoms, 27 are primary contacts of other positive patients and contacts of 73 are being traced. With this the total Covid 19 positive cases in the DK district rose to 5,509. As many as 2,561 persons have been discharged and 2,800 cases are currently active. 150 deaths have occurred including 8 deaths today.

Udupi district has reported 248 fresh cases on Thursday. Now, the Udupi has a total of 4,143 cases with 1,669 still being treated at the designated hospitals. 2,445 patients recovered and discharged including 78 discharges today. The district has reported 29 COVID-19 fatality.
