119 new Covid-19 positive cases in DK; 225 cases in Udupi on July 27

Mangaluru, July 27, 2020: 119 people from Dakshina Kannada and 225 people from Udupi tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, July 27, 2020. Eight more Covid-19 fatalities were recorded in DK today.

Amongst the eight deceased in DK were, three women aged 51, 65, 92 and two men aged 64 and 65-year-old from Mangaluru, 65-year-old male from Bantwal, 82-year-old man from Udupi and a 68-year-old male from Hubballi. As many as 80 patients were discharged from hospital today.

Among the 119 who tested positive in DK, 34 with influenza-like illness (ILI), 6 have SARI symptoms, 46 are primary contacts and contacts of 33 are being traced. With this the total Covid 19 positive cases in the DK district rose to 4,930. As many as 2,297 persons have been discharged and 2,502 cases are currently active. 131 deaths have occurred including 8 deaths today.

Udupi district has reported 225 fresh cases on Monday. Now, the Udupi has a total of 3,613 cases with 1,415 still being treated at the designated hospitals. 2,184 patients recovered and discharged including 51 discharges today. The district has reported 14 COVID-19 fatality.
