Mangalore April 12: Dogs belonging to various breeds were exhibited during Kudla Dog Show 2010 organized at Kadri Park on April 11, Sunday, by the district branches of the Karnataka State Government Veterinarians Association (KSGVA) and Karnataka Veterinary Association (KVA).
Krishna J Palemar, the district-in-charge minister, inaugurated in Dog Show and Rabies Awareness campaign, which formed part of the show. He said that awareness regarding rabies is of great importance and wished the participants of the Kudla Dog Show well. Audio and visuals regarding rabies were exhibited in a separate place. Several stalls selling dog cages, dog food, and other pet supplies were also set up.
More than 100 dogs, belonging to 30 breeds, were entered for the show. A Great Dane, belonging to Devdas Poojary of Bejai, was the biggest dog at the venue. Another Great Dane, belonging to advocate Raghavendra, also participated in the event. Visitors could view interesting breeds such as Labrador, Doberman, Pug, St Bernard, German Shepherd, Daschund, Pomeranian, and others.
The show was conducted by Agnel Rodrigues. Dr. K V Halagappa, the president of KSGVA; Dr. Ashok Kumar, the secretary of KSGVA; and Dr. Shilpa B N, the convener of the dog show core committee, were present during the occasion.
