Kundapur, Dec 13, 2018: Though fish trade between Karnataka and Goa had resumed recently after almost over a month’s deadlock, all seems to be not well even now.
It has come to light of late that officials from Goa who intercepted a vehicle loaded with fish from Karwar have dumped as much as 1.5 tonnes of fish into garbage bin despite the fact that the fish was taken in an insulated vehicle with due clearance from FDA and Food Department of Goa.
The fish supplied by Ramanna from Karwar was being transported to Atlas Company at Panaji.
It is alleged that while fish trucks from Andhra and Maharashtra were allowed without any hindrance, only vehicles from Karnataka were subject to harassment, making fishermen here to think twice before sending fish to Goa.
