Mangalore, May 5: ‘Holeya Belladingalu’ a book written by nature lover and a famous artiste Dinesh Holla’ was released at Mermaid Island, near tile factory, Bolar, recently.

The book release function was held in a unique manner, where a short boat carried all the invitees to the Merimaid Island, a small island nestled on the serene backwaters of Phalguni. The boat was lit up with Kerosene lamp and flame torches, as the function was arranged in the night.

While speaking on the occasion, Holla has revealed about a road accident kept Dinesh Holla confined to his bed, which gave him time to plan the launch of his fifth book in a different style.


Earlier, his four books were launched in different places and also in different manner. His first book ‘Chiguru’ a collection of small poems was released on the premises of Nisarga Loka at Modankaup in Bantwal. The environs of Bisle Ghat in the west Ghats provided the perfect backdrop for release of ‘Adaviya Naduve’. The function, organised in a grand manner, was attracted a number of artists and poets. The function has also observed a large number of artists and poets taking part in event named ‘Giri Kuncha Kavana. All the artists, who have participated in the event spoke out heartily and expresses their feelings at the function.


Another main attraction of function was the guests were given a basketfull of seeds, which they threw around the Bisle Ghats. According to Dinesh, the seeds would only go on to become trees during some point in time, that’s why the guests were given seeds to scatter different parts of Bisle Ghat, he added.


Books like ‘Kadalathatada Suryakanthigalu’ and ‘Bettada Hejjegalu’ were released at Thannerbhavi and Charmadi. Ghat. ‘Kadalathatada Suryakanthigalu’ is consists of 125 articles.


‘Varna Sharadi’ another book written by Holla was released at Thanneerbhavi, the same place where ‘Kadalathatada Suryakanthigalu’ was launched. During the book release function, artists painted while poets read out their compositions.
