’Dead man’ comes back after cremation

Mangalore Today News Network

Udupi, Nov 11, 2015:  The family of a dead man who had cremated his dead body were out for a shock when they saw the dead man hail and hearty, standing right in front of them, about a week after his final rites and rituals were performed.

’Dead man’ comes back after cremation Shankar (48) from Barkuru had gone missing from his wife’s house at Manikattu in Saligram TP limits near Kota. Shankar had married a lady named Gauri from Manikattu and was since living in Gauri’s house. However, sometime ago Shankar had abandoned Gauri and their three children and went missing.

Last week, the news of a man resembling Shankar having died in a road mishap at Surathkal reached Shankar’s family and they promptly claimed the unclaimed dead body. They also performed the last rites of Shankar.

However, after all the rituals of ’dead’ Shankar were over, a relative of Shankar was in a bar at Saligram when he got into a conversation with his friend about Shankar’s death. Suddenly, another man in the bar who overheard the conversation plunged in and said that Shankar was alive and he was working in Kalburgi as a waiter in a hotel. To confirm the same, the third man even called up Shankar on his mobile and had a conversation too.

After couple of days Shankar returned to Gauri’s house. His relatives were more than happy to see Shankar alive.
