Moodbidri, Nov 14, 2014:  Alva’s Educational Institutions Chairman Dr M Mohan Alva, in a press release confirms that the final  preparations are underway with much enthusiasm  to launch  ’Alva’s Nudisiri 2014’,   The three-day mega event will be presided over by litterateur Dr Siddhalingaiah. Special sessions, lectures, commemoration of literary giants of the past and cultural extravaganza await lit lovers at Vidyagiri.

Also, the Alva’s Nudisiri will feature various exhibitions, folk art performances and multi linguistic programmes.

Upbeat  features  :  As many as 3,000 artistes and 150 art troupes will be part of the Nudisiri, along with around three lakh spectators. The venue has been colourfully decked up and fruit and flower exhibition, and artifacts carved out of various vegetables and fruits carvings are to offer a feast for the eyes of onlookers. Programmes in regional languages will be an added attraction.

Special attention has been given towards cleanliness and hygiene.   Arrangements have been made to provide refreshment and lunch at 45 counters at 9 venues, to accommodate 10,000 people during an hour.

Sessions and cultural programmes will be held at six various stages. Also, sessions of various languages will be held. A turn out of 3,000 to 4,000 people is expected at Beary, Konkani and Tulu language conventions, to be held at the evenings. More than 5,000 literary enthusiasts have arrived at Vidyagiri from various parts of the states while students from three states will witness Nudisiri. All programmes will adhere to the schedule. A procession comprising 50 folk art troupes will be taken out from 8.45 am to 9.30 am.

Exhibitions :  Jnana Sindhu team of visually challenged children from Dharwad, Gadag and Hubballi will perform ‘Mallakamba’. An exhibition of fruit and vegetable carvings. A 28 feet-long local banana plant will be an added attraction at the agri expo. Apart from these, there will be troupes of Sudugadu Siddharu, Hakki Pikki, exhibition of the traditional attires and cuisines of Tulu, Konkani and Beary communities and food expo will add to the colours of Alva’s Nudisiri.   The fest will feature 183 book stalls too among  some very interesting and useful features.  It is certainly a much awaited and  lovely occasion awaited each year.
