Mangaluru, Dec 12, 2019: Karnataka Bank has today launched a novel public awareness initiative as part of its CSR activities by flagging of the Mangalore Express (12133/34) train at Mangaluru Junction railway station adorning the exterior of the train with vinyl wrapping carrying messages exclusively promoting civic values touching areas like Swachh Bharat, Conservation of water, Girl Child Education, Protection of Heritage and Culture, Use of renewable sources of energy, Promoting environmental sustainability etc.

The creatives are exclusively focussed on social themes as mentioned above and are intended to have a wide impact among the masses as the train traverses different states across the country in its course of journey. Special attention was paid to develop the creatives in multi-lingual mode so that people belonging to each state can understand the message in their native language.

Flagging off the train Shri Mahabaleshwara M S, MD & CEO said “Today there is a lot of talk about the Fundamental Rights of the citizens. We all should equally be committed towards the fundamental duties as well. This awareness campaign will serve to remind the people of the country to assume the responsibility of building a strong, healthy and wealthy nation.

The pictorial captions on the trains will throw light on the importance of educating the girl child, protecting our heritage sites, ensuring cleanliness of public spaces, conserving natural resources, use of renewable sources of energy etc.  I am sure that, initiatives of this kind will complement and foster the activities on ground by various agencies in bringing about a social change by educating the public to voluntarily be a stakeholder and change agent in this continuous development process. Karnataka Bank being known as a ‘socio economic movement’ is happy to play its role”.

Shri Gokuldas Pai, Chief Business Officer, Shri Chandrashekar Rao B, General Manager, Shri Srinivas Deshpande, AGM and representatives from Bulls Eye Media were present on the occasion.
