Mangaluru, Nov. 26, 2015: "Education should broaden our mindsets to realize that all of us are Indians and all of us are united as one nation", said Mr. P.B Acharya, Honourable Governor of Assam and Nagaland.

He was speaking after inaugurating NAMASTE- Centre for study of North-Eastern states, at K S Hegde Auditorium Deralakate on Thursday, November 26.

"The country should recognize the people of North-East and their issues. Even though the North-East region is rich in resources, they lack in proper utilization of it", he added. “India is rich, Indians are poor”

Chancellor of Nitte University N.V Hegde glanced upon the connectivity  between Nitte University and the North-East students through NAMASTE scheme.

He also added that the Governor of Assam and Nagaland, himself took the first initiative to establish the NAMASTE.

Dr. S. Ramananda Shetty, Vice Chancellor of Nitte University welcomed the gathering. Prof. Moodithaya delivered the vote of thanks. Mrs. Kavita Acharya, Dr. M. Shantharam Shetty were present on the dias.
