In his own assessment, Oscar said “I am not a suitable candidate for the post of President of India.” He said that Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee too is a probable candidate for the post of President. “I think I am not a suitable candidate for such a high position in Democracy,” he added.

“There is no difference in Congress with regard to the selection of candidate for President’s post. Leaders will discuss and take a final decision soon. The term of Pratibha Devi Singh Patel as Presidents ends on July 22 and the calendar of events for the election has not been published yet. There is enough time for the party to choose a suitable candidate,” Oscar said.

On Centrally Empowered Committee report on former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa, Oscar said, “Supreme Court will decide everything and we will wait till then.”

He asserted that Congress candidates in the election to Legislative Council from graduates and graduate teachers constituency will come out victorious.

Responding on the mud dumping to Phalguni River issue he said "Any development activities will cause some discomfort for some people."

Mayor Gulzaar Banu, Former Mayor Shashidhar Hegde, former MUDA Chairman Suresh Balal, MLA Abhaya Chandra Jain MLA Ramanath Rai, MLA UT Khader, KPCC Secretary Ivon D’Souza, former MLA Vijay Kumar Shetty were among other party workers at the meeting.
