Manipal,  Sep 08, 2018: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said the revival of Brahmavar sugar factory depends on farmers in the area who come forward to grow sugarcane required for the factory.

 

H D KumaraswamSpeaking to media, he appealed to the farmers to grow sugarcane cultivation for the purpose. He said he will set right the fishermen’s problems. The officials have been told to be liberal while providing the compensation packages to the fishermen who have lost their boats due to tragedy.

The chief minister urged the BPL card holders to avail of the benefits of the Arogya Karnataka health scheme by showing the BPL cards.

Kumaraswamy said the youths in the area will be given employment opportunities by paving way for the industries and factories.

He said action will be taken against UPCL thermal power plant if it is responsible for the ash rain in the region, based on the expert report.

The chief minister said the demand to allow the traditional manual sand miners to take up the sand extraction without undergoing tender process will be looked into and a high-level meeting will be held to discus the issue in Bengaluru within 8-10 days.

A proposal is being considered to construct houses to 11,000 Koraga families who do not have proper roof over their head.

Referring to Shiroor Mutt seer Lakshmivara Theertha Swami’s death, he said the police are following the Supreme Court directions. Once everything is concrete, the Police Department will come out with the truth, he said.
