When Modi jumped security to greet schoolkids at Red Fort

New Delhi, August 15, 2014: In another first, Prime Minister Narendra Modi broke his security cordon to meet schoolchildren who had gathered on the massive Red Fort courtyard in New Delhi to hear his Independence Day speech.

school kids After Modi delivered his hour-long speech from the ramparts of the 16th century fort, he descended and, while walking towards his car, was suddenly seen drifting towards a group of schoolchildren in blue uniforms who had come to hear their PM.

The sudden move startled the NSG commandos guarding Modi. They were seen rushing in, trying to shield the PM, who was by then surrounded by the elated children.

Around 10,000 spectators had thronged the citadel to attend India’s 68th Independence Day celebrations.
