Terrorists Open Fire at Security Check Post in Kashmir, 3 Injured

Kashmir, July 31: Three policemen have been injured after suspected terrorists opened fire at them at a security check point on the Baramulla-Srinagar highway in Jammu and Kashmir.

 

The suspected terrorists were travelling in a passenger vehicle. They opened fire when their vehicle was stopped at the check point.

The suspected terrorists then managed to escape from the spot.

The injured cops, including a Station House Office (SHO), have been shifted to a hospital where the condition of the SHO is said to be critical.

This comes just four days after three terrorists attacked Gurdaspur in Punjab killing seven people, four of them policemen. All three terrorists were gunned down in a counter-terror operation that lasted nearly 12 hours.

Gurdaspur is just 18 km from the border with Pakistan.

Earlier today, government sources said there is "no credible evidence" that the Pakistan government was aware of the plot to attack Gurdaspur. But they also said chilling evidence has been uncovered that proves the attack was planned 17 days in advance and that the three terrorists were armed for a far more serious strike.
