The incident comes days after the deadly Pulwama attack which killed nearly 40 CRPF personnel. According to reports, on February 14, a JeM terrorist rammed a vehicle laden with explosives into a CPRF convoy on Srinagar-Jammu national highway around 3.15 pm and killed as many as 40 jawans. Over 48 countries have come out in support of India and condemned the dastardly terror attack.

On Sunday, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh accused  Pakistan of engineering the Pulwama attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The Minister said that Pakistan carried out the attack after finding out that the terrorists have become frustrated in the wake of the successful operations by the Indian forces in the past five years.

"Pakistan, which has been patronising terrorism, realised that frustration and desperation had grown among the militants due to successful operations against them by our security forces in five years," Singh said at a public meeting on Sunday. According to reports, a day after the attack, the Centre withdrew ’Most Favoured Nation’ status granted to Pakistan and called for "international isolation" of the neighbouring country.
