Ganesh Raman, who works at a courier company, had bought the 100-gram gold coin with his hard-earned money. He had kept it covered in pink jewellery-wrapping paper and placed it under the bed.

To his shock, Ganesh Raman found it missing. When he asked his wife, she told him that she had cleaned the room and threw away the garbage.

Ganesh Raman immediately filed a complaint with Sathangulam Police, who immediately searched for CCTVs to find who was clearing garbage in the area that day.

To their surprise, Mary, a conservancy worker had already returned the lost gold coin to the authorities through her manager.

While segregating the waste, Mary had heard a cling noise and assumed it to be a cheap metal. She opened the wrapper to find the gold coin. Without any second thoughts, Mary immediately informed her supervisor, who then handed over the gold coin to the authorities.

Later, Ganesh Raman and his family came to the Sathangulam police station on Monday where the police made Mary return the gold coin to them while appreciating her honesty.
